Apoquel for dogs from Zoetis Petcare is an anti itch or allergy medicine usually prescribed by veterinarians in cases of extreme skin itching like atopic dermatitis, atopy, skin allergies, food allergies, flea allergies etc. It is a novel and better approach at preventing itching unlike regular itch remedies like antihistamines, prednisolone and steroids(hydrocortisone) which usually show a lot of side effects. Side effects are 1 in 10,000(very less) for apoquel and works better as well.Suitable for short term as well as long term use. Can also be used in cases of flare ups. In case of long term use, it can be discontinued without tapering.
